According to one management consultancy’s methodology for assessing and awarding employers, four factors are evolving amid the pandemic.

Globally, talent mobility has been on the increase, and organizations have been encountering greater difficulties in attracting and retaining needed talent, balancing the latter’ groups’ work-life balance, and painting a clear, inspiring and motivational vision to engage talent to stay and build that future.

Given the present challenges around talent retention, employees that do not see good career opportunities and organization’s response to their well-being have been cited as being four times more likely to leave than the norm.

One management consulting firm that hosts awards for organizational excellence has released its list of 2021 winners for their Regional Best Employers awards. The awards are based on assessments of organizational excellence across critical people factors:

  • employee engagement
  • organizational agility
  • engaging leadership
  • talent focus

According to the firm—Kincentric—only five in 10 employees surveyed felt their organization was attracting or retaining the people they needed to achieve business goals. A decline of 11% in favorable perceptions of senior leaders demonstrating care and concern for employees has been noted; and only 55% of high performing employees surveyed saw strong career development opportunities. Leveraging what the firm claims is the “most objective measure possible”—employee opinion—their assessment methodology seeks to identify firms that demonstrate excellence in the workplace by creating differentiated employee experiences and agile, inclusive cultures leading to stronger, more sustainable business results.
